Paul brought his E-Production RX7 to us so we could install G-Force Engineering's tri-link and panhard suspension, as well as a few odds and ends. Removal of obsolete and unwanted parts is underway, and as soon as shop cleaning is finished we'll finish up the installation.

After removing an interesting fuel cell mount and taking the exhaust off to make installing the panhard and 3-link easier, each was fitted and welded in place. After that was completed, a new fuel cell mount utilizing some of the old mount was fabricated and the cell and fuel pump were remounted. The car was fitted with a bolt-in Autopower cage with a few welded add-ons, so we added some NASCAR-style door bars to give Paul a little side protection as he heads up to the National Championships in Ohio.

Once most of the work was completed (our original task list was cut short due to availability of parts) we took the car up to Motorsport Ranch to give it a proper shake down and make sure everything was working properly. After a few sessions Chris took the car out and discovered it wandered under braking. Upon checking caster (some things were left off the pre-event checklist due to a shortage of time and sleep deprivation) we found a 3 degree difference. After fixing that, Paul pronounced it better, but not perfect.

After the Runoffs Paul will bring the car back to us to (hopefully) install new shocks, springs, and brakes, and we'll finish up some other odds and ends that have come up during the car's stay at the shop. Then it will be time for another practice to hopefully nail down an intermediate setup to tweak the car from.
